[Edelweiss] That Blue Sky Feeling by Okura

Hey guys! Can you believe I haven’t read a BL title since around the beginning of the year I IMAGINE. I know, it’s like a crime! But for some reason, nothing has really caught my attention outside of a few webcomics I’ve been “keeping track of” (aka I bookmarked them months ago and haven’t returned to them). So to remedy this, I actually went to this website called Edelweiss, which works similarly to Netgalley but has a hint of Goodreads

Basically, I can go and request some books to read and then I review them for the publishers. I actually found That Blue Sky Feeling on there and wow, I really enjoyed it! Continue reading

Reading Devils and Realist v 1 – 10

Ok guys, so before I start this, I just want to show you all the covers of this series. Aren’t they SO NICE, like if you saw them at a bookstore, wouldn’t it make you curious about the content? Well, that is exactly what happened to me and this series. I think I picked this up around the time there were maybe 4 or 5 volumes, or maybe I only owned that many at the time…Either way, I jumped in to watch the anime and then sort of dropped it for awhile

But now I’m back, burning with unanswered questions that the anime left me with! Unfortunately, I only have so many volumes within hands reach and you bet I was left at a cliffhanger

So this series follows William Twining, a genius (practically) attending a prestigious school, who plans on being either a lawyer or politician and then swimming in loads of money. Continue reading

Reading Air Gear v 1-6

Hey guys! So it’s been AWHILE since I last did one of these. I think since around my blog first started and I was reading Otomen and My Little Monster (there was also a third series but I can’t remember what it was called…). I figured it was about time I revived them because who doesn’t want more manga content on the blog? Besides, it’s a way to help me keep reading! And since these are impressions by volume, SPOILERS abound! Especially once you get into anything after volume 1 because I talk a bit about the previous ones (hehe)

32330

But yes, I have already started on my reading goals and because it was just right there, my first read is Air Gear. I mentioned I watched the anime when I was younger and I was trying to figure out when because I started reading the manga soon after. And oh boy, has this first volume surprised me. Not only does it feel SUPER different from what I remember, but it’s also more violent than I remember! Continue reading

[Netgalley] Manga Classics: Jane Eyre

I just had to check out another. This might be my last manga classics in awhile because I can only read so many (lol)

jKxwRP2

Jane Eyre is one of those classics that I’ve only heard of but never really got curious about. I’ve read Wuthering Heights by Charlotte Bronte but aside from that one book, I hadn’t really heard of this author’s name before Continue reading

[Netgalley] Manga Classics: Les Miserables

More manga to feed the soul (lol). So it’s been awhile since I last checked out a Manga Classics, possibly because I just haven’t been in the mood to read much. But recently I was bored and I thought I’d do some reading (and by some I mean a lot)

51Z9joGOg2L._SX346_BO1,204,203,200_

I decided to check out Les Miserables for a couple reasons. One is that I’ve seen this book all the time in the bookstores, have wanted to check it out, but it’s size always left me passing it up. Second is that I was really curious about the novel and Manga Classics has been a good way for me to learn about the story while still not knowing everything. Continue reading

[Review] Hana to Usagi by Kashima Chiaki

Hey guys! So I recently went back to Kashima Chiaki’s titles and noticed I hadn’t talked about Hana to Usagi even though I did do an unboxing for it. I did mention what the story was about in that post but I held myself back from fangirling

10403307_789211997766386_3379496846501753627_n

A cute little story about a delivery guy named Kajiyama Ryouta who, on his first day as a deliveryman, meets a really eccentric guy named Aizawa Mamoru who always wears a bunny head when accepting deliveries. It makes him wonder why he wears the bunny head and his imagination spirals out of control, believing Aizawa is a murderer or some other kind of wanted criminal. One day, when making another delivery, Kajima meets a guy who reminds him of Aizawa only to realize it is Aizawa without the rabbit head!  Continue reading

[Review] Ibitsu na Koi no Seesaw Game by Kashima Chiaki

Ok guys, I’m a little lot emotional about this manga so if I start sobbing halfway through…it’s because I love this 😭

First off, Kashima Chiaki is one of my all-time favorite mangaka. I randomly stumbled upon one of her doujin called Tonari no Haruka-chan, back when I was in the FREE fandom. Suffice to say I loved her art and searched for more of her work. That eventually led me to her original stuff like Flower and Bunny, which I loved, and since then I’ve been reading her stuff like a slave to her beautiful art.

And I thought I’d go ahead and review a couple of them while I wait for the Scarlet Beriko titles to update (as well as another I’m excited about showing you all)

Ibitsu na Koi no Seesaw Game is about a phantom thief named Grey and Inspector Sudo. Grey is notorious for sending cards to the police, announcing his next crime and successfully slipping away undetected. Meanwhile, Sudo has been working on the Grey case for what feels like forever now, but no matter what happens, Grey always slips away. Continue reading

[Review] Seven Days: The Manga and Live Action Comparison and Thoughts

Hey guys!

So the other day I was thinking I wanted to watch some movies to help diversify the content on my blogs, instead of just having anime and manga. But I was a bit hesitant since I don’t like to watch movies by myself. I’m more the type to watch with someone else and then talk about it with them.

That’s when I randomly thought of BL dramas and how I’d never watched one before! After doing a bit of research I found Seven Days and immediately headed over. However, as I was watching the live action I couldn’t stop myself from picking up the manga, so instead of doing a review on the live action by itself, I thought I’d do a semi-comparison/overall review of both. [Review] Joou to Shitateya by Scarlet Beriko

Ok guys, I lied. I’m not going to read Jealousy just yet, but I am going through Scarlet Beriko’s manga and I found this super cute one

MR-363606-835001-2

Rumour has it that if people wear suits from the tailor shop SHIDA, you will be successful. Oumi hears about this rumour from one of his coworkers and decides to go check out the place, to see if this is actually true. Of course, when he gets there, he ends up getting teased by the shop owner Tetsuya for believing the rumours. He claims that he won’t be able to make Oumi a magic suit and that success comes from the hard work his customers put into their jobs.  Continue reading

[Review] Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki by Scarlet Beriko

I am here to right my wrongs!! So this is the one manga I thought I’d already reviewed but apparently didn’t…please enjoy. It’s hot and has mafia dudes and the CUTEST seme I’ve ever met.

t000_cover

So this was the “second time” I read this manga and I feel like I’m reading it through new eyes. This picks up after Minori No Te. It seems that at some point, Tatsuyuki took up Minori’s offer of going back to see him, but when he did, Minori was gone. This leads him to being depressed/heartbroken and he returns to being uninterested in being the head of the Ooyamato Group, a major yakuza group from the Kantou region. Continue reading

[Review] Minori no Te by Scarlet Beriko

Wow, guys. So I was going to review Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki but when I started reading it, there was a note saying it was a spin off of Minori no Te. I’ve tried to read it before and just couldn’t get past the first chapter because in my head Tatsuyuki can only be with Nozomi

But I decided to persevere!! In hopes of possibly catching any references to this book

cimg001

Minori no Te is about a guy named Minori who is a physical therapist in a lesser known part of town. He gets a variety of customers ranging from members of the yazuka to well-known actors, but what they all have in common is that after receiving Minor’s ‘special massage’ they always come back. Of course, one day he gets a new customer who just happens to be someone from his past. Continue reading

[Review] Jackass!~ Who said it was okay to touch?~ by Scarlet Beriko

Why did I not read this sooner?! Ok, so I’ve actually stumbled upon this manga a lot of times because the cover is so eye catching, just look at that leg (mmm) but for some reason I’ve never read it? But today I did!

As an FYI, this mangaka also did Yondaime Ooyamato Tatsuyuki, which I could have sworn I reviewed but I can’t find it, what kind of a fujoshi am I?! Keeping all that sexy to myself, I’VE FAILED YOU ALL

Jackass follows the relationship of two couples. Our main couple seems to be Keisuke and Shinoda, and our side couple is Katsumi and Aramaki-sensei. Continue reading

[Review] Rereading Ten Count by Rihito Takarai

Eherm, so I stopped reading this manga a while ago, weeks, possibly months. But I was bored last night and figured there was enough content where I could just skip certain scenes if I needed to (or at least get some sort of explanation where I wouldn’t feel too weirded out reading this), only to end up rereading the whole thing

9592eec21eeae3dd4f8ddf29091a761e

Because I’ve been following it pretty faithfully since (probably) before volume 1 was printed, I feel like I’ve forgotten a few things. It’s kind of like watching anime once a week compared to binging everything. Rereading it helped jog my memory and I thought I’d write up a post with some quick thoughts about each volume, knowing what’s coming in volume 5 Continue reading

[Review] Kurui Naku no wa Boku no Ban by Keri Kusabi

Hasn’t done BL Manga reviews and when she does, she picks an R18 Omegaverse story? Yup, I did, though I didn’t know it was Omegaverse when I picked it out. I just thought, Oh hey look at these two super hot guys and oh man that tall one probably gives devious one the world/is super devoted to him/it’s HOT sexytime, definitely something I’m into

r001

And into it I went (hehehe). Since there’s no summary on the website I read it on, I suppose I must now use the few brain cells I have left to try and make sense of all the yaoi in my head:

Takaba has just started his new job and is relieved to find his coworkers are all Alphas. It seems like the perfect workplace…until Director Karasuma walks in and his Omega scent reaches Takaba. Having grown up away from Omegas and practically loathing them for their “typical Omegan ways,” Takaba finds this job might not be as easy as he once thought. Especially when he’s invited to one of Karasuma’s “meetings”

[Review] Skip Beat: 38 volumes of fun, craziness, and healing

Today I decided to share one of my favorite shoujo manga that makes me laugh like a maniac. As if I didn’t do enough of that already…

Skip Beat! is a 38 volume (and ongoing) shoujo manga by Yoshiki Nakamura that is licensed by VIZ media. It follows the life of Kyoko Mogami, a sixteen year old girl who follows her crush Sho to Tokyo to help realize his dreams of becoming a celebrity. Working multiple jobs, Kyoko supports Sho and the home they “both share”. Completely devoted, she doesn’t see that there’s something more sinister at play here.

Of course, all of this changes when Kyoko visits Sho on location and overhears a conversation where he confesses that he was only using her as a maid! Enraged by his betrayal, Kyoko vows revenge and thus her determination to enter showbiz is born. Continue reading
