[Review] Bungo Stray Dogs S1: Getting Ready to Watch S3!

On May 19th I decided it was about time I a) started watching anime again and b) give this show a second chance because I really wanted to check out season 3! If you’ve been following me a while (or have browsed my inventory?! I’m looking at you Irina! I saw you stop by my Devils and Realist post recently…), then you might have noticed that in 2016 (has it really been that long?!) I was really excited to watch this show because it had so many bishie babes and that after three episodes, I was hooked (actually, it was after episode 1 but I did a three-episode first impression, EHERM)

[Review] Soul Eater: What Do You Mean This Is It?!

I finally finished it!! Now I can’t say I’m eternally watching it anymore, lol. I swear, this show has been on my watch list for at least two years. And after finishing it, I came to realize that there’s something about endings that’s very tragic. Maybe that’s why I had been putting this off for so long

Anyways, I recently did a first impression on the first 37 episodes of Soul Eater so if you want to hear me ramble about my husband Stein and my new ship GiriLaw, go and have a look at that. I made sure to provide some gifs for your viewing pleasure~ Continue reading

[Review] Juni Taisen: Zodiac War(rior) Crimson – Reviewing Mercilessly…Or At Least Attempting To

I’ve been feeling rather accomplished lately. I finished three series already and while it took me a century and a half, I finally got out a review for one of these three shows. Now it’s Juni Taisen’s turn. I actually wondered if I should even review this one since it’s been so long and well, not a lot of people liked it. But I kind of wanted to “close” the show on my blog even though I’m probably going to reiterate what everyone said about Juni Taisen back in 2017 (wow! has it really been so long?!) Continue reading

[Review] Sirius the Jaeger: Are the Bro-Feels Enough to Carry the Show?

Hey guys! So I was having a bit of a crisis yesterday over this blog. I would worry but I’ve had so many of them that at this point I’m like ok next. What was I freaking out over? The fact I always ramble during reviews (like I am now) and if there was some sort of secret that I could find, an ability I could achieve to just get to the point Continue reading

[Review] Rewatching My Hero Academia S1 in Preparation of S3 Plus Some Favorite Character Fangirling

izucchan

Hey guys! It feels like only yesterday when I was whining about not having anything to blog about and now here I am, writing actual content. HMM, actually, it might have been yesterday…*EHERM*

It looks like whenever I have nothing to watch, or I’m afraid of investing in something new (because who am I kidding, THIS is why I don’t watch as much anime anymore), I tend to rewatch things. And this time around I am rewatching (and rereading some much needed yaoi) My Hero Academia. It’s a show I picked up 2 years ago (what is up with me and 2 years?). At this point, I can’t remember if I read the manga first or watched the anime. I want to say it was probably the manga since I already knew what season 2 would bring for us (sports festival) way before it ended but I could have probably picked it up after the first few episodes and binged it  Continue reading

[Review] Big Windup S2 Hit A Homerun In My Little Sports Anime Lover Heart!

Ok guys, so I wasn’t expecting to get through this one so quickly but once I picked up season 2 it was so hard to stop!! Beware the spoilers for season 1 and maybe for season 2? I’ll try not to get into much detail but it’s so hard to when I’m so excited!

1846

So in season 2 we pick up directly after season 1. Nishiura has just finished their first big game against a top school and they’ve WON. However, instead of riding on their high of winning, they keep working hard, never underestimating the next team they play but also trying out new game plans. Unknown to them, their next big competitor, Bijoudai Sayama, is studying them and are ready to do whatever it takes to win! Will Nishiura win the next game and become one of the Top 16 schools? [Review] Big Windup Is Cute and Feels Good But Also Very Slow In Comparison to Another Baseball Anime I Know

And the review is finally out! Though if you saw my little post on my FB page and Anime Planet profile, you might already know what I thought about this show (basically that I liked it!). At this point I have watched a couple other sports anime so it’ll be hard for me to not compare it with others. Which is why this is like a review/comparison post. Don’t forget to read my first impression since I won’t be introducing our main characters too much anymore. And beware spoilers because why not get a little excited?

In Big Windup we follow Mihashi, an extremely timid pitcher who was bullied in middle school for being a “sucky and selfish pitcher” (not a quote but basically what they meant). His teammates hate him and instead of confronting them and defending himself, Mihashi ends up running away and enrolling at Nishiura High School, away from all his old teammates Continue reading

[Review] Recovery of an MMO Junkie Was Such A Cute Feels Good Series With Loveable Characters

HAPPY NEW YEARS! I know it’s already past but it is the new year so hopefully everyone spent it having fun and hopefully not drinking too much. I know I spent it stuffing myself full and now that that’s done and over with, time for anime

I’m really happy that for my first review of the year I’ll be talking about Recovery of an MMO Junkie! I know I picked it up and even did some impressions on the first couple episodes but then I couldn’t keep doing it weekly. Next thing I know, someone said it was over and I finally got around to binging it and I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait. If the first few episodes were dragging me through the feels fields, these last ones nearly killed me

[Review] Daiya no Ace Season 1 Final Thoughts And Maybe A Bit of Fangirling on the Side

tumblr_no8bxbqZoY1qe7wb7o1_500

Hey guys! So sorry I haven’t really written anything on the blog. I just haven’t really been feeling like writing and then I’m always too lazy to turn on my desktop and ask my clothes to let me borrow my chair. I know. I’m a mess BUT I just finished Daiya no Ace and I’m just so excited and I want to tell you all about it!

Excuse me if this review turns into fangirling along the way. Also, SPOILERS because I know I can’t keep my mouth shut when I’m excited and right now Eijun has infected me with his enthusiasm Continue reading

[Review] Too Many Feels and Tears: Season 2 of Hakkenden

Oh my, Oh my. So I went back to watch Season 2 soon after finishing Season 1 and I don’t think I’ve ever had such an intense workout before? I swear my heart was about ready to pop out of my mouth and I probably screamed a couple dozen times at 1:47AM

standalonecomplex

Season 2 continues off where we left off in Season 1, which was Shino and Sousuke finding the eight gems of Princess Fuse’s Dog Companions. Our characters are starting to draw connections between their flower shaped birthmarks and their backstories, making finding the rest of the Companions slightly easier Continue reading

[Review] Season 1 of Hakkenden: Eight Dogs of the East

Hey guys! So the other day I decided to start watching some anime again because yes, I don’t think I’ve watched much anime in some…3 months possibly? Maybe even more. I’ve actually been sticking to manga and novels

But instead of watching some of the newer stuff, I found myself checking out series like Aldnoah Zero, which I reviewed in 2015 and then I ended up doing some episode by episode impressions for it (2017). I also ended up watching Hakkenden and I was originally only going to watch 3 or 4 episodes…but by the time I checked my clock it was already 5AM, I hadn’t slept a wink and I’d finished season 1!

standalonecomplex

The first season of Hakkenden is 13 episodes long and is about a boy named Shino who was supposed to die when he was 13, however, his will to survive was so strong that he was given a choice to save himself and the people he loved. Five years later and he’s doing seemingly well with Hamaji, his younger sister, and Sousuke, his older brother/guardian, if you exclude the small fact that Shino hasn’t physically aged since he was saved and is now the bearer of the demonic sword Murasame  Continue reading

[Review] Haikyuu S3: The New Champions!

/SCREAMS INTO THE NIGHT SKY/

It’s happened! I’ve gone and watched the whole of Haikyuu, 60 episodes in some 5 days. And It Was Awesome. You guys have no idea how happy I am that my wait was not long since I started watching s3 when there were 9 episodes and Friday was only 2 days away. Plus, I cheated and went to look at the manga to see how the season would end because I needed to know so bad! Possibly the worst cliffhanger e-v-e-r

Like always, spoilers for Season 1 and Season 2 are fair game! Continue reading

[Review] Haikyuu S2: Gearing up for the Spring Tournament Finals!

I can’t believe it took this long to get back to watching Haikyuu! But better late than never, right? So I started watching this series back when it first came out (2015), but I was slowly going through it because I was watching with my family.

Of course, after my brother watched it without me because he couldn’t wait anymore, I was left devastated and put the series on hold. Until just recently.

Also, if you haven’t watched S1, I’d say watch it unless you don’t mind spoilers because S1 spoilers are fair game. I also reviewed S1 here!

heyheyhey9

When it was announced that season 2 was going to be airing, I was pumped because it was going to encompass so much character growth, and some of my favorite scenes of the manga: the training camp and the bathroom scene! Continue reading

[Review] Haikyuu S1: No Longer Fallen Champions!

Hey guys!

So it’s been awhile since I first watched Haikyuu S1, 2 years ago actually (my how time flies~) and because there’s been a sudden revival of the series, I thought I’d go back and rewatch the whole thing! And with S1 down, I am now ready to watch s3 (pshh, I watched this in the wrong order hehe)

Now, I’m mentioning rewatching because my review now is completely different from when I’d first watched it. You can bet I was screaming and tearing up when I watched this in 2014, but now…well, read ahead~

Haikyuu is a 25 episode anime about volleyball and very thirsty characters. At the beginning we’re introduced to our two main protagonists, Hinata Shouyo and Kageyama Tobio. Continue reading

[Review] Skip Beat: 38 volumes of fun, craziness, and healing

Today I decided to share one of my favorite shoujo manga that makes me laugh like a maniac. As if I didn’t do enough of that already…

Skip Beat! is a 38 volume (and ongoing) shoujo manga by Yoshiki Nakamura that is licensed by VIZ media. It follows the life of Kyoko Mogami, a sixteen year old girl who follows her crush Sho to Tokyo to help realize his dreams of becoming a celebrity. Working multiple jobs, Kyoko supports Sho and the home they “both share”. Completely devoted, she doesn’t see that there’s something more sinister at play here.

Of course, all of this changes when Kyoko visits Sho on location and overhears a conversation where he confesses that he was only using her as a maid! Enraged by his betrayal, Kyoko vows revenge and thus her determination to enter showbiz is born. Continue reading
