I am back from the dead!!! Dejavu? Well, aside from using this in nearly all of my posts, I also used this same phrase about 8 months ago when I hosted the Jon’s Creator Showcase for March. Please don’t check my math, I haven’t taken a math class since years ago. EHERM. Now, chances are everyone who is stopping by are veteran Showcase bloggers but in case there are any new viewers or just bloggers coming out of hibernation (like me) who forgot all the logistics…we’ll start with those.
If this is your first time hearing about this project, here’s a little info about it (I’d also check out Jon’s official post)
The Jon Creator Showcase was created by Jon over at Jon Spencer Reviews at the beginning of this year. His goal for this project is to have content creators share their work in an interactive way regardless of skill or following. The project was run by Jon only that month because of IRL situations and as a way to not let the project die, Raistlin suggested having multiple hosts. Which is why all you lovely people are here this month~
October was hosted by KawaiiPaperPandas, and if you haven’t checked out the showcase yet, feel free to stop by while I sludge through the thousands of entries that I’m sure you’re all going to bombard me with (HINT HINT make me suffer people!). There are tons of great posts on there so be sure to check out a couple (though I recommend all of them) and maybe you’ll find your new best friend on there! And if you want to do a bit of blog hopping, here’s a list of all the previous roundup posts (along with a couple other community projects I know about *IP*)
If anyone is interested in hosting this showcase for 2019, here is the signup sheet!
How do you join in the fun?
There are a couple rules but they’re fairly simple
What can you submit?
All creative content is welcome! It can be a blog post, a youtube video, fanfiction, fanart, a comic, a podcast, pictures, an essay, anything as long as what you are sharing is yours and is respectful (18+ content is ok). You can also submit posts and art of any subject so please don’t think that because my blog is anime and yaoi geared, your submissions have to be as well. Submit something about anime, book, travel, lifestyle, music and more.
Remember that the posts you submit must be content that you created in October so please send me all your Halloween posts. I can’t sit through a horror movie to save my life but static content is easy peasy. (Though if you made a horror short film, Send them to me! I will bite through my blanket if I must!)
Submissions are going to be done via Twitter and they need to be tagged #JonsCreatorShowcase AND @crimtalksbooks (or @Crimson613, either one works! I just have two twitter accounts because I’m weird). This makes it easy for me to find your submissions. You can also leave your links in the comment sections of this post or DM me on Twitter if you’re feeling shy! I also have other social media accounts that you can contact me by in case you don’t have a Twitter (links all the way at the top)
In addition to this, please tag at least one more person (ideally 3) so that more people can participate. It’s going to work like a chain. If you feel that everyone you know has already been tagged, try to find some new bloggers. If you have not been tagged feel free to jump into existing conversations or start a new thread, just remember to tag me so I get a notification. I will be looking through the tag #JonsCreatorShowcase but there’s a possibility I might miss submissions if I’m not tagged. How do you know if I missed your submission? If I don’t like your tweet by the cut off date, send me a DM or bug me because chances are I didn’t see it…
Submissions for the November showcase begin November 2nd and will officially run until November 24th. What does this mean? I will still look at submissions until November 28th but I can’t promise I will be able to squeeze them into the showcase (but I’ll try!). The final showcase roundup post will be up on the last day of this month (30th) and I will try and add as many people as possible~
I didn’t make this distinction before but I was just thinking about it now. If anyone submits art for this showcase, I will be linking to whatever site you post your art (IG, dA, a website, etc), however, if you don’t have a website where you post art, I can post it directly to the final roundup post (and you’ll be credited of course!).
If there are any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments section, tweet at me, or contact Jon (@JS_Reviews) and we’ll get back to you asap.
Let’s Get Started!
Now that we’ve gone through all that, here is the start of the thread. Again, if you’re not tagged, feel free to make your own thread but make sure to tag me 🙂
